1989 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Bass Black Maple 2-Band EQ

Up for sale, an incredible and hard to find 1989 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Bass in Black color with Birdseye Maple fretboard. Made in San Luis Obispo, California USA in 1989. (Do not get confused with the StingRay34 by MusicMan, this is a real Ernie Ball MusicMan).

Weighting at 10.0 Lbs, which is average for a good old StingRay with Ash body.

All original. This is great example from a late ’80s transitional StingRay with a 4-bolt neck with skunk stripe on the back of the neck and bullet truss rod at the headstock. Also, it comes with the typical MM one piece neck made of all Birdseye Maple that is super straight and confortable. Ash contoured body with 3-ply Black pickguard, top load bridge with string mutes (missing but can be added) and the classic MM pickup with 2-Band EQ and chrome knobs.

Cosmetically, it has been well used, there’s some considerable wear (some buckle rush, patina and only a couple of tiny dings of the of the body although atill in great shape for a +35 year old instrument. It definitely has a lot of mojo. There’s not really any big blemishes nor defects whatsoever. You an see clearly in the photos its age is reflected and it has been used or played with the utmost care. It’s been professionally set with a fresh set of D’addario Nickel strings and It really plays amazingly well. It’s a workhorse that is ready for some more decades of use.

It comes with a non original Gatot black tolex hard case, which is in Excellent condition with its case keys.
